Dr. Brett Neal

Optometrist

Dr. Brett Neal is a highly trained optometrist, specializing in Cornea and External Disease and Specialty Contact Lenses. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Pre-Medicine followed by a Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. While obtaining his degree, he spent one and a half years in clinical externships through The Eye Institute (Philadelphia), The YKHC Hospital (Bethel, AK) as well as multiple private practices throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey gaining additional experience in management of ocular diseases, pediatrics and low vision.

Following his externships, Dr. Neal completed his residency at The Eye Institute, with clinical honors in Cornea and External Disease and Specialty Contact Lenses. As part of his residency training, Dr. Neal helped provide pre- and post-operative care for cataract, corneal transplant and refractive patients. The residency allowed him to acquire years worth of specialty contact lens fitting experience. His expertise in fitting specialty contact lenses, including toric, multifocal, gas-permeable, scleral and hybrid contact lenses, is such that he organized and taught several advanced workshops for contact lens students.

After completing his residency, Dr. Neal accepted a position as Chief of Contact Lenses for James Lewis, MD where he later also became Director of Glaucoma Services. As Chief of Contact Lens Services, Dr. Neal was responsible for all specialty lens fits in the practice including fits for keratoconus, post-refractive surgery, and post-corneal transplant patients.

Dr. Neal joined Dr. Goldberg’s practice (now Neal Eye Group) in 2014. He is enjoying fitting standard soft contact lenses again in addition to the specialty rigid gas permeable and scleral lenses. He resides in Conshohocken with his wife Erin, son Logan, and dog Chloe. Feel free to say hello when you see him at Feine, Bar Lucca, The Fellowship House and other locations in town.

Dr. Erin McConnell

Optometrist

Dr. Erin McConnell graduated from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA with Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She went on to graduate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Sciences and a Doctorate of Optometry. Following optometry school, Dr. McConnell completed a residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA specializing in primary eye care and ocular disease. Professional memberships include the American Optometry Association (AOA), the Pennsylvania Optometric Association (POA), and the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).

Outside of the office Dr. McConnell enjoys partaking in the culinary delights offered by Philadelphia’s vibrant dining scene and plotting her next vacation.

Dr. Pellegrini

Dr. Angela Pellegrini

Optometrist

Dr. Pellegrini graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in the Visual Sciences, and a Doctor of Optometry degree, at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia in 2008. Dr. Pellegrini achieved clinical honors throughout her optometric externship rotations. Following Dr. Pellegrini’s optometric education, she completed a one year residency at The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. The residency provided additional training in comprehensive, primary eye care with an emphasis on the treatment and management of ocular disease.

For the past fifteen years, Dr. Pellegrini has been providing care to her patients at an ophthalmology practice in Delaware. She is licensed to treat ocular diseases including glaucoma, diabetes, age related macular degeneration, and anterior/posterior segment pathology. Dr. Pellegrini is dedicated to providing quality family eye care, contact lens services, and the treatment and management of ocular disease.

Dr. Pellegrini enjoys being with her husband and energetic daughter. They love exploring outdoors, going on adventures, and spending time with their friends and family.

Dr. Jeremy Aikey

Ophthalmologist

Dr. Aikey (pronounced eye key), Ophthalmologist and Surgeon, specializes in treatment of diseases and surgery of the retina. He completed his undergraduate degree at Lehigh University, medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and MBA at the Haab School of Business of St. Joseph’s University. He completed his internship and residency at OhioHealth in Columbus, OH. His fellowship in vitreo-retina surgery and diseases was received at Retina and Vitreous of Texas in Houston, TX.  He manages and treats all retinal disorders including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular puckers, macular holes, retinal tears and retinal detachments.

DrAyanChatterjee

Dr. Ayan Chatterjee

Ophthalmologist

Dr. Chatterjee is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma surgeon. He specializes in numerous advanced techniques for treating cataracts and glaucoma, including the use of cutting-edge laser-assisted (femtosecond) surgeries and standard and premium intraocular lenses to correct astigmatism and presbyopia. He has also developed skill sets in glaucoma that provide his patients with the option of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (“MIGS”) as well as traditional surgery. 

Dr. Chatterjee graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Molecular Biology. He received his Medical Doctorate and Masters in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital.

He completed his clinical glaucoma fellowship at Duke University, where he trained with some of the world’s leading glaucoma surgeons. Dr. Chatterjee teaches as a faculty member at Wills Eye Hospital and Clinical Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University.

DrScottGoldbert

Dr. Scott Goldberg, FAAO – Retired

Optometrist

Dr. Goldberg was accepted to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry after only three years at East Stroudsburg State College. He earned both a BS and OD degree.

Commissioned by the United States Air Force, Dr Goldberg was officer-in-charge of Optometry at Castle Air Force Base in CA. He returned home and started his optometric practice in 1979, moving to it’s current location in 1982.

He retired from military service after 24 years as Lieutenant Colonel Goldberg. He also graduated from Air War College and has a Masters Degree from Norwich University in diplomacy.

Dr Goldberg became a Distinguished Graduate from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in 1997 and in 2012 , the Pennsylvania Optometric Association named him “Optometrist of the Year”. He also is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry.

He served on the PW Distinguished Graduate Board of Directors from 2004- 2012 and continues to serve on the PWHS Scholarship Committee Board, a position he has held for over 22 years.

A long time supporter of the Conshohocken Lions Club, Conshohocken Library, the local fire companies, the Soap Box Derby, Fun Fest, the 2014 Veterans National Wheel Chair Games and the yearly “Stand Downs”, providing free eye care and glasses to homeless veterans.

Dr Goldberg presently resides in West Conshohocken with his wife Linda. He has a son Jacob and daughter Megan.

DrAnthonyZacchei

Dr. Anthony Zacchei – Retired

Ophthalmologist

Anthony Zacchei, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in cataracts, glaucoma and LASIK surgery. Dr. Zacchei was accepted to medical school while in high school and completed an accelerated six-year program with Penn State University and Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Zacchei trained at both Emory University in Atlanta and the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He received the Resident Research Award and has presented his ophthalmology research in the United States and Europe. He has served as Director of Glaucoma and Cataracts for the Moore Eye Institute affiliated with Brandywine Hospital and the Crozer-Keystone system, and currently he serves as the Director of Glaucoma for Kremer Eye Center.

Over the past 23 years, Dr. Zacchei has performed over 35,000 cataract surgeries with exceptional success. He performs the most advanced cataract and glaucoma surgeries, including SLT, ECP, trabeculectomies and shunts. Dr. Zacchei has extensive experience with premium implants to correct astigmatism and presbyopia to minimize a patient’s need for glasses. His educational honors and awards include graduating Magna Cum Laude from Jefferson Medical College and selection into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He is also an Eagle Scout!

Dr. Zacchei has authored numerous publications and has lectured nationally and internationally. He teaches students and residents at numerous local schools. Dr. Zacchei is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
